The Moving Image
After four years at the Maryland Institute College of Art I graduated with a BFA in Video and Film Arts. I was trained in the production of video and film, but was always drawn to the digital aspect of the medium more than its narrative applications. I saw video as a medium in and of itself instead of as a transparent window through which to view stories.
My video work focuses more on the actual information used to encode images than on the objects and events that the images represent. It is much more interesting to me to create an image from scratch and see how those images interact with themselves than it is to capture the world and edit it. This interest lead to a focus on developing my editing and compasiting skills. From compositing I found the world of 3D animation and its applications to video production.
